Formed in Whitehorse in 1972, Total North began as a one man radio shop providing services to government and commercial concerns operating in Northwestern Canada. As the North began to grow and prosper so did Total North. By 1979 the company had expanded to 10 full time employees and a new facility on Black Street in downtown Whitehorse. The company had undertaken significant expansion in the radio communications area and was a leader in the newly emerging satellite television technologies.
